Assembly of God Hosts Canadian Singing Group
The "exciting sound" of the Golden-Heir Singers has been heard throughout Canada and the United States, in churches, concerts, and camps, and has thrilled and blessed the hearts of every audience.
These young people, Carole and Larry Beisel, Max Frazier Jr., Starlene Dawn, have more than just the ability to present beautiful music, and the vibrance of youth, but they will present an impressionable dedicated sound you will long remember. Every song they sing, whether today's popular gospel songs, or traditional favorites, they will inspire you, as you listen and watch them put all they have into it.
Larry Beisel, manager of the group, who travelled previously With a gospel quartet for five years, believes music always has, and always will play a great part in our spiritual environment. The Golden-Heir Singers sing to over 300 different audiences each year, and travel 50,000 miles in a self-contained bus. The Golden-Heir Singers have recorded five albums, and are exclusive recording artists with Praise Records of Canada Ltd.
This young Canadian group from Chilliwack, B. C., will appear on March 4, 7 p.m., at the Pomeroy Assembly of God Church, Tenth and Arlington Sts.
From December, 1974, "There Will Always Be a Christmas" Cantata directed by Bud Vogt of Pataha's Vogt Family.
(I'm assuming that "Church of God" was just a name change as the adress was the same.)

David Nichols resigns as pastor
David L. Nichols has announced his resignation as pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Pomeroy, since he has decided to devote more time as an salesman for industrial supplies.
Rev. Nichols, pastor here for the last six years, says the church has lost a number of members over the past several years, when construction workers moved away. Now, the church can not support a full time minister family.
Mr. and Mrs. Nichols said they will miss the people of their congregation and the community when they leave. Regarding the Pomeroy Ministerial Association, Nichols said "I don't think I've ever worked with a group of people who were more fun to work with."
Nichols will continue as pastor for the next 90 days to enable the church to name a replacement. He said the church already has two applicants for the position, and he believes the Assembly of God district office will be working with the church, advising members as to who is available.
The district may also be able to help the church here with some matching funds, Nichols said.
The Assembly of God here is unique in that it is the only congregation in Pomeroy with its own Sunday School bus. Nichols said it operated well when Hannah and Steve Breithaupt spent considerable time to develop it, and the Sunday School bus can be made into a good thing again in the future.
For the past two years, Nichols has supplemented his income as a factory representative for the Hallemite, Lehn and Fink Division of Sterling Drug Co., manufacturers of epoxy floor systems, and for Southwest Petroleum, a manufacturer of roofing and building maintenance systems. He will continue in the ministry as a special speaker while developing his selling career.
His wife, Faye, has received an appointment at the Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, where she will resume her career in Data Processing. Faye said the hardest part for her was leaving behind the piano and organ students that she has been tutoring since coming to Pomeroy. She said she also will miss the girls of the Missionette Group, which was formed last year.
Mrs. Nichols is already working at the Naval Air Station, while David Nichols and the family are still in Pomeroy. He said now is a good time to make the change, since daughter Debbie is finishing the sixth grade and will start junior high next year. The Nichols have two other children, Darla, age 4 and Derek, two months. They will live in the Oak Harbor area.
