Don's Drive-In, September, 1956

May of 1963 and you can go to the Short Stop Drive Inn

It was still the Short-Stop, with new Managers Fred and Ellen Ramos

Just a year and a half later and Pomeroy has Freddy's Drive Inn with Mexican food

Another name chgange as Sue Gage comes in to manage the Red Steer in the summer of 1978.
Sue Gage manages Red Steer
Dwayne Brigham, owner of the Red Steer Drive-in here announced this week that Sue Gage of Lewiston has been narrted manager of the Pomeroy Red Steer.
Miss Gage was formerly assistant manager in Clarkston, a position she was promoted to after starting as a waitress four years ago. "We hate to lose her in Lewiston, but I believe she'll do a good job in Pomeroy," Brigham said.
Miss Gage is a Lewiston High School graduate and attended University of Idaho last year. She is interested in continuing her college education. Other interests include bicycling and sewing.

Mister B's as of August, 1979.
Girl burned in flash fire
Nita Carey was burned on the arm and face Sunday during a flash fire at Mr. B's Drive Inn.
Miss Carey was attempting to start the gas grill Sunday morning, when it flashed, burning her and starting some grease on fire. The situation was under control before firemen arrived.
Rod Carey, Nita's father, said the doctor bandaged her arm, and she is doing fine. "The injuries could have been a lot more serious," he said.
Wades purchase drive-inn
Cecil and Beverly Wade have purchased Mr. B's Drive-Inn, which Beverly has managed for the past three years.
The restaurant, which will be known as Wades' Drive-Inn, will continue with no menu changes, but the Wades do plan to improve the interior decor. New chairs have already been purchased. The kitchen is in good condition, Mrs. Wade said, as the former owner, Duane Brigham, kept everything in good shape.
Janet Scoggin continues as assistant manager, while several local high school girls continue as waitresses.

Last name I have an advertisement for (so far, anyway) is Wades'. [That misplaced apostrophe was a typesetter, it was really Wade's.]
Drive-in under new ownership
The drive-in on Main Street formerly called Wade's Drive-In and owned by Cecil and Beverly Wade, has recently changed ownership.
Purchasing the restaurant, which is now called Papa's Pantry, is the Conners family of Lewiston.
Jim Conners said he and his wife Sally purchased the restaurant in a joint venture. "We've always wanted our own business," he said.
Conners worked until recently as the Administrative Coordinator of Environmental Services at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lewiston.
He said he and his daughter Patty, who has had prior restaurant experience, will be in the drive-in most of the time, while his daughter Kathy and wife, Sally, will also be working on weekends.
The Conners plan to expand the drive-in by moving the dining area to the curb on Main Street. Kathy said they also have surprise plans and big changes to come.
Conners said the drive-in offers larger portions at almost the same prices set by Wades. Papa's Pantry has more fries and ice cream, he said, and they plan to add another burger to the menu, consisting of hamburger, Canadian bacon and Swiss cheese.
The Conners' have been pleased with the openness of the community and feel that the people have been responsive and friendly. "We like small, rural towns," Conners said.
They plan to commute for awhile and get to know the town before making a decision to purchase a home in Pomeroy, Conners said.
