Oscar E. Koenig

Oscar E. Koenig, 73, a native of the Pomeroy area, died at Maynard Hospital at Seattle Sunday [April 24, 1966] after a heart attack.

He was born at Pataha Dec. 3, 1893, the son of Ludwig and Lelah Koenig. Koenig attended Pomeroy schools, and was graduated from Pomeroy High School. He attended Reed College at Portland, Ore.

Koenig married Emma Sprenger Nov. 26, 1919 at Seattle and was employed by Allied Printers there until his retirement in 1964.

During World War I he served with the Army Medical Corps in France.

He was a member of the Congregational Church and York Rite Masons at Seattle and the Masonic Lodge and Evening Star Lodge at Pomeroy. He was a charter member of the Pomeroy American Legion.

Surviving are his wife at Seattle; a son, Glen E. Koenig, Prosser, a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Katherine) Pugh, Wenatchee; and five grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending at Richardson Funeral Home of Pomeroy. Burial will be at the Pomeroy City Cemetery.
