CITY ORDINANCE

An ordinance providing for the regulation and supervision of public billiard halls and public pool halls, providing for licenses and license fees therefore, and fixing penalties for the violation thereof.

The city council of the city of Pomerov do ordain as follows:

Section 1. That no person, firm, company or corporation shall engage in, prosecute or carry on the business of a public billiard hall or public pool hall, within the corporate limits of the City of Pomeroy, without first having obtained a license therefor.

Section 2. That from and after the 15th day of February A. D., 1924, there shall be paid to the city treas­urer of the City of Pomeroy, by per­sons, firms, companies or corpora­tions engaged in, carrying on or prosecuting the business of public pool halls and public billiard halls within the corporate limits of the City of Pomeroy the sum of $35 an­nually to be paid in advance.

Section 3. Any person, firm, com­pany or corporation engaged in, prosecuting and carrying on the busi­ness of public pool halls and public billiard halls are prohibited from al­lowing or permitting any person un­der the age of 18 years to enter or remain in any room where such games are being conducted and car­ried on.

Section 4. Persons under the age of 18 years are prohibited from en­tering or remaining in any room where the business of public billiard hall or public pool hall or either is being carried on.

Section 5. Any person, firm, com­pany or corporation upon conviction of any of the provisions of this ordi­nance shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $100 or 30 days in the city jail, and in addition to such fine or imprisonment the city council may upon presentation to them, while in session, of a certified copy of such conviction, without notice and with­out hearing, revoke the license of such person so convicted, and the li­cense of the firm, company or cor­poration of which he is the manager, agent or representative.

Section 6. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here­with are hereby repealed.

This ordinance shall be in force and effect five days from the date of publication of the same. Passed this council this 5th day of February, 1924. Approved this 5th day of February, 1924.
